Event Details
A little known fact about pigs is that they love to party. Oh yes, give
them streamers and noise makers and they're happier than if they were
rooting in... Well, we don't need to go there. Anyway. We are going to
skip the streamers and the noise makers (at least the obnoxious kind)
and throw a party that even your dog would want to blog about. (yes,
pigs are friends with dogs)
World-renowned
spinner DJ Angola is going to get the party started. Tasty food and
drink will keep you fueled and your feet (or hoofs) on the dance floor.
And you will definitely won't want to miss the sweet sounds of Derek
James as he takes the stage for a live performance.
If your
dancing shoes get worn out, head over to the craft area and try your
hand at making some sweet cards. The best of the bunch will be
uploaded to the site for everyone to send and share with their friends.
Check back here often as more details for the party come
together--like what tasty concoctions we'll be pouring, the food you'll
be nibbling -- Eskimix (on Bleeker and Grove) and possibly even some awesome prizes
we'll hopefully be raffling.

that is geared towards the 18-34 demographic that has been neglected for far
too long by the major greeting card companies. With an ever-expanding inventory

in the creative process by submitting their own designs; sophisticated rating

PigSpigot also breaks down the wall between technology and tradition by
allowing users to send not only online versions of cards but also affordable
printed versions too.

DJ Angola - http://www.deckstatic.com/bio.htm
Brooklyn,
NY-based DJ Angola's professional reputation stands on his diverse
musical taste and effortless command of style. Mixing smoothly through
tribal/afrobeat, jazzy, deep/disco and
electro-house sounds as well as his own tracks and original mixes, he
utilizes an array of music and vocals to create live remixes on the
turntables. In demand for his versatility and wide ranging sets he has
moved club goers around the world.
Derek James - http://www.myspace.com/derekjamesmusic
New York City songwriter Derek James is described as, "bluesy, ballsy
Buddy Holly for the iPod generation" who's "sultry voice is enough to
make anyone's mama blush." Since his first performance in 2003 at an
open-mic in Australia, James has hopped continents with his music,
playing with a self-assembled French jug band through the streets and
clubs of Europe, and finally back home to New York to traverse his
native States. Ragtime piano, upright bass, vintage electric guitar,
ukulele, banjo, accordion and Ringo-esque drums can often be heard
accompanying him at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, the House of Blues
in New Orleans, opening for OK Go at George Washington University in
DC, or any other of his many gigs across the country. Touring both as a
solo troubadour with his guitar, kazoo and ukulele in tow, as well as
with his band, the Lovely Fools, Derek James spends a good portion of
his life rolling over gravel.
